  1. Congrats Jamie! You won again! I wonder why you choose to use a scientist controll build instead of Scientist ftk. Do you feel controll is superior or is it just a meta/fun decision? I'm also curious about your lack of hand traps. Does it work for you only to side the proper hand traps game 2? Please shed light on the meta you face at those tournaments to give me a better understanding.

    1. Thank you for the words of congratulations. As for why I played control over FTK in this particular tournament, it mostly was a fun decision. To be completely honest, my local Traditional Format tournament has dropped off recently, to the point where it's almost not even worth playing anymore. This is true for this post and the last set of Tournament Results; all posts before that were serious events and the results should still be taken seriously.

I'm sorry to let you down with there being no special reason why I played this deck, but that's the way it is. I can say, though, that I do feel control to be better than FTK, and that the Scientist Control deck I'd been playing a few months ago (and did my last Quick Article on) would be my example of a perfect control deck. Since FTKs are becoming easier and easier to counter (and players are becoming better and better at countering them), a deck needs to have more than one possibly play, and a deck which can FTK, OTK and control ( as the Scientist Control deck can) will be the best choice for a serious Traditional tournament. This is also true if you look back through the history of the game - FTKs have rarely won tournaments, and have never dominated a format.

Thanks a lot for commenting and asking questions, I like it when people are interested.

      -Jamie
